I was never effortlessly academic. Which means I had to think pretty hard about how everyone else was doing it.
I also tutored my (very difficult) younger sister who's the same, meaning I had to think even harder about how to apply those methods to other students's learning journeys.
Seeing her struggle was sort of gut-wrentching, especially since I felt responsible for her grades.
Now, I can help people like you who have that same feeling!
What was I like at school?
I went from an average grade of just over 5 at the end of year 10 to receiving straight A's - an avearge grade of 8.
At A level, I took myself from E,E,C to A,B,B.
Along the way I was tutoring 7 GCSE students, all of whom improved their grades significantly.
So I'd dare to say I know a bit about grade improvement.
